Official sources told KNO that the gunfight broke out this afternoon in Kulgam village after forces launched search operations in the village following specific inputs about the presence of militants there. The search party was fired upon by the hiding militants during the search operation in the village, which was retaliated, thus leading to an encounter, they said.
